The Hole Through Time!

On the first day that we were at Matravile High School we dug a hole through time and became archeoligst for the day. We found many artifacts such as necklaces, bones, clay pots and clay figures.

On one of our days, when we came to matraville, our teacher showed us how to measure the distance of a route we chose, to walk around Taronga zoo.

The second day we came to Matraville, we did an IT quiz in the library to test our knowlege of computer vocabulary. We had 2 teams and my team won.

Fun with Codes

When we went to maths we tried to figure out codes . We did the alpha bet but we did it opposite you can do a code by chnging the alphabet a little.  We used the codes to make secret words and had to work out what the words were.

One of the days at matrville we went into a wood work room and we had to draw lines on these wooden knitting tools. Then we went into another room and we had to start carving the top of them. Then when we had finished carving the top we started to sand it to make it smooth. After that we painted them to make them look good

…Today we learned about volcanic eruptions
…The best part of the day was watching the volcanoes erupt
…I laughed when the lava was yellow
……I was surprised when they erupted
…Our teacher showed us how to prepare for this experiment first miss Brown the science teacher showed us a movie  we went  to the tables and miss Brown showed us what to do and what to put in the to make our volcanoes then after we had put everything in we got a funnel and had to put what we had made around it. then Miss Brown put yellow and red food die in the  funnel. We had to put charcol around it  so it looked like a real volcano then we watched our volcanoes erupt
